Rochester Newborn Family Photos – Olsens

Years ago, I made the decision I would no longer photograph newborn sessions. The time and effort required for posed newborns stressed me out. I stopped taking inquiries for newborns and passed them along to other photographers.
More recently, I started to revamp my definition of the “newborn session”. For me, I didn’t want props, a studio setting, or carefully articulated poses as it doesn’t suit my style. I wanted to offer my clients “real” photos showing interaction and love that abounds when a new baby is brought home. I want to focus on love and connection in the home. So when Megan contacted me a couple months ago about newborn photos i carefully explained I don’t do typical newborn sessions. I described my process and she said, “That is exactly what we want!” I asked her to contact me again after the baby was born.
I was thrilled to received a call from Meghan within 24 hours of giving birth. This session was shot at 6 days. Baby Clara is an absolute doll! I actually never saw her awake during the session. It was beautiful capturing these sweet moments.
